New Chatterbooks group at Weybridge Library

We had the first meeting of a new Chatterbooks Group at Weybridge Library this month. Seven children joined the new group and together we started reading 'To the edge of the World' by Julia Green. We had a great meeting; everyone was enthusiastic about meeting each other, talking about books and sharing reading our new book. Special thanks go to our lovely Chatterbooks volunteer, Sharon who helped make our first meeting such a success.

There are a few spaces on the group so if you are aged between 8 and 11 and would like to join us please sign up at Weybridge Library or email margot.walshe@surreycc.gov.uk

Our next meeting is on Friday 13 July from 3.45 - 4.45 pm.

Reigate Library Chatterbooks have just read Charlotte's Web by E.B.White, we then made our own spiders and webs.
Reigate Library Chatterbooks have just read Erica's Elephant by local author and friend of the library Sylvia Bishop. We then made elephants from milk cartons. We are now on a break for the summer, more Chatterboks fun in September.

Last month Haslemere Chatterbooks read 'Running Wild' by Michael Morpurgo and a selection of non-fiction books about our rainforests and other environmental concerns. This was followed up with a visit from author/illustrator Hannah Rollings who encouraged us to consider our role within the Carbon Cycle.
