13th September. Returning from our break we had read two books over the summer, ‘Confessions of an imaginary friend’ by Michelle Cuevas and ‘Skychasers by Emma Carroll. Some of the group read both books and some just one.
‘Confessions of an imaginary friend’ by Michelle Cuevas is about a boy called Jacques Papier who discovers he is not Fleur’s brother as he had believed, but her imaginary friend! An unusual book, with great dialogue and surreal humour. This book made us laugh but the ending was tinged with melancholy. Spoiler alert-adults don’t tend to have imaginary friends!
Skychasers’ by Emma Carroll is an adventure story with a twist. Magpie is a pickpocket who ends up working for the Montgolfier brothers and helps them develop the first manned flight.

We filled in sheets for the Egham teenage Chatterbooks group
about the kind of things we like to do.
