Caterham Chatterbooks #6

At our March meeting, we read 'Awful Auntie' by David Walliams.

We enjoyed the book and it did keep us guessing about where the deeds were hidden. We agreed that Stella and Soot were probably our favourite characters and we felt very sorry for Wagner the owl! David Walliams is a popular author in Caterham Chatterbooks and it was suggested if you enjoyed this then you should try Demon Dentist or Mr Stink.

Those who arrived early did a wordsearch while waiting for the others, and then we made a cross stitch owl each by cross stitching onto card. None of us (including the group leader) had cross stiched before so it was a learning experience for everyone!

However the owls came out well and those who finished coloured some extra features on their birds. We also had fun coming up with names and personalities for our owls - top left is a very formal awesome dude!

Next month we will be reading 'Wonder' by R.J. Palacio.
